Is a Flower Subscription Worth It? A Guide for Calgary and Canada

A new floral story each month. Explore the changing colours, textures and seasonal inspiration of our monthly flower subscription.

A flower subscription can be worth it if you already enjoy fresh flowers, like discovering different designs, and want a regular delivery without placing a new order each time.

It may be less suitable if you travel frequently, need flowers only for specific occasions, or prefer to choose every bouquet yourself.

At La Maison Flower Studio, our Monthly Special Flower Subscription offers a new featured arrangement each month, with delivery in Calgary and selected Canadian cities. Here is how to decide whether it fits your home, gifting plans, and budget.

When Is a Flower Subscription Worth It?

Start with a simple question: would you enjoy receiving flowers regularly, even without a special occasion?

If the answer is yes, a subscription can turn something you occasionally remember to buy into a recurring part of your routine.

Perhaps you enjoy flowers on the breakfast table. Perhaps you like choosing a small treat for yourself each month. Or perhaps you want to send a loved one something thoughtful beyond a single birthday.

The value comes from how much you enjoy the experience, as well as the convenience of recurring orders.

A New Design to Look Forward To

One appeal of a seasonal subscription is discovering a floral palette you might not have selected yourself.

You may usually choose soft pink flowers but enjoy a richer seasonal arrangement when it arrives. Different colours and textures can change the character of a familiar corner without changing the furniture around it.

La Maison’s Monthly Special features a different design each month. This makes it a good fit for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable letting the featured collection guide the choice.

If you strongly prefer the same colour palette every time, individual orders from your favourite collection may suit you better.

Less Time Spent Choosing and Reordering

Buying flowers individually gives you control over each purchase. It also means remembering to browse, choose a design, and place another order whenever you want flowers.

A subscription reduces that repeated decision.

For someone who already intends to buy flowers regularly, that convenience can be part of the appeal. For someone who only wants an occasional bouquet, there is no need to create a monthly commitment.

Consider your actual habits rather than how often you imagine you might enjoy flowers.

An Ongoing Gift for Someone You Care About

A flower subscription can extend a gift beyond one delivery.

It may suit a parent who enjoys decorating the table, a partner who loves seasonal flowers, or someone you would like to stay connected with from another city.

Before choosing a subscription as a gift, consider the recipient’s routine:

  • Do they enjoy receiving fresh flowers?

  • Are they usually available to receive deliveries?

  • Do they have a suitable place to display them?

  • Would they enjoy changing designs?

  • Are there scent sensitivities or other preferences to discuss first?

A recurring gift should fit the recipient’s life as well as the sender’s intentions.

Look at the Total Commitment

To decide whether a subscription offers value for you, review the recurring price, delivery charges for the destination, and minimum commitment before ordering.

Compare equivalent bouquet sizes and delivery areas when looking at subscription and one-time prices.

Avoid assuming that a subscription automatically saves money. The relevant comparison is what you would otherwise purchase and whether you genuinely want the recurring deliveries.

La Maison’s Monthly Special Flower Subscription requires two consecutive monthly orders, two payments, and two completed deliveries. Cancellation is available after the second payment has been processed and the second delivery has been completed.

A complimentary glass vase is included with the first subscription delivery, so there is no need to add a separate vase option to that order.

Review the available options on our flower subscription page.

Monthly Delivery Does Not Mean Month-Long Vase Life

Delivery frequency and flower longevity are different things.

A monthly subscription provides a fresh arrangement each month. It does not mean that each bouquet is guaranteed to last until the following delivery.

Flower longevity varies with the varieties used, their stage of opening, room conditions, and care. Enjoying the changing appearance of the arrangement is part of the experience.

Follow the instructions provided with your flowers. For practical guidance, read how to make fresh flowers last longer.

How La Maison’s Monthly Flower Subscription Works

To begin, visit our subscription collection and choose the recipient’s delivery area.

Select the available bouquet size and first delivery date, then review the recurring payment details and complete your order online.

Payments renew monthly. Delivery dates depend on the available service days for the destination.

For nationwide subscriptions, delivery is available Tuesday through Friday only, excluding statutory holidays. If a recurring date falls on an unavailable day, an alternative eligible date needs to be arranged.

Delivery is offered in selected Canadian service areas, rather than to every address in Canada. Confirm the recipient’s postal code and available options before purchasing.

When a One-Time Order May Be the Better Choice

An individual order may be more practical if you:

  • Want flowers for one particular date.

  • Prefer to choose the exact collection each time.

  • Travel often or have an unpredictable schedule.

  • Are still discovering which bouquet size you like.

  • Would rather avoid recurring payments.

You can begin with one arrangement and see how it fits your routine. Notice where you place it, how often you enjoy it, and whether you would welcome another delivery the following month.

There is no need to subscribe before you know what works for you.
